West Fraser Electro/Mechanical Ltd. is a premium rebuilder and manufacturer of electric motors and related components. The plant equipment and facilities are state of the art and WFEM's view toward continuous improvement requires constant review and upgrading of the facilities. The computerization of our plant processes and testing stations ensures consistent adherence to quality controls.

WFEM is ISO Certified through QMI to rebuild and manufacture motors to 20,000 HP @ 13,200 volts and was the first certified motor rebuild facility in the province of British Columbia.

Our plant facility includes a 15,000 sq. ft. service center capable of repairs and testing of A.C. motors up to 20,000 H.P. and D.C. motors up to 3,000 H.P.

WFEM is EASA-Q Certified through the Electrical Apparatus Service Association by Demand Side Energy. EASA-Q ensures that our facilities match or exceed the scope of work advertised, that environmental practices are adhered to, that all work and testing is traceable to international standard and that a high level of customer satisfaction is achieved.

West Fraser Electro/Mechanical offers advanced capabilities in the field of DC motor and generator repairs. Specialty equipment includes computerized commutator profiling, programmable armature stripping ovens, stainless wire banding machines, and a vacuum pressure impregnation insulation process.

West Fraser's machine shop manufacturers and repairs precision shafts, impeller fans, gear boxes, and Babbit bearings.

West Fraser employs a state of the art test bay that can run motors at full voltage on a calibrated cast bed. West Fraser's dynamometer allows our technicians to check for components vibration and brush settings under load conditions - offering you the best assurance on excellent performance from your electric motor rebuild.

West Fraser Electro/Mechanical is CSA certified to repair "explosion proof motors" to 6700 HP at 4160 volts. Repair of motors for "Hazardous Environment" is demanding work and our Precision Service Team is committed to West Fraser's Standards of Excellence.
