West Fraser Electro/Mechanical Ltd. is located in Prince George, British Columbia. This operation covers three business units as follows: Direct Sales, Technical and Field Services, Repair Plant All are housed in a 17, 000 sq. ft. industrial building located in the city’s Carter Industrial Subdivision.

History

West Fraser Electro/Mechanical Ltd. (referred to as WFEM) was established in February 1986. The principal owner at the time was Garry Toop. In January 2001, Garry sold the company to several employees of WFEM. The company employs 21 people – 7 of whom are owners. This working relationship between owners and employees has helped WFEM continue its mandate towards excellence.

Corporate Mandate

West Fraser Electro/Mechanical Ltd. believes in building solutions for our customers’ problems. To that end WFEM’s mission statement is as follows:

WFEM provides the highest quality products combined with after sales service and continued responsibility for our customers’ best return on investment.

To support that, WFEM’s collective experience spans the full spectrum of electrical apparatus service. Thus repairing motors becomes only part of what we do. Most customers need outside expertise. WFEM plans to build our customer relationship through supplying that expertise. To that end we provide training for our staff. We recruit based on hands on experience and academic achievements and then we complement this with ongoing, bi-annual seminars.

With very capable human resources and good product lines, we can be of value to many companies. Still, no company can be everything to everyone. With that realization, our plan is to align ourselves with quality companies from the supply aspect of our business. As the GE industrial motor distributor for BC, we are well on our way. We are committed to forming business relationships with companies that can help us to provide solutions to our customers. Such a symbiotic relationship with the right company (ies) can strengthen our position in the market place and help us achieve our goals.
